The Ann Arbor Book Festival wins Best of Show
The Ann Arbor Book Festival earned recognition at this year’s ADDY Awards, a celebration of local advertising excellence held at the Rackham Building in conjunction with the Ann Arbor Ad Club. In addition to winning "Best of Show" for its 2006 campaign, the festival garnered two Gold ADDYs and one Silver Citation.
Many community partners contributed to the success of the winning campaign including: The Ann Arbor News, Ann Arbor District Library, Ann Arbor Printing & Mailing Services, Edwards Brothers Incorporated, Malloy Incorporated, Main Street T-Shirts & Gifts, Thomson-Shore, KatMalda Design, and The Exclamation Point.
In total, 173 entries were submitted to the ADDY award competition by Ann Arbor area advertising agencies. The ADDY Awards is a highly respected advertising competition, with over 60,000 entries submitted each year.
In addition to the awards won on behalf of the Ann Arbor Book Festival, illustrator Heidi Woodward (who creates, and generously donates, the wonderful posters for the Festival) also earned four additional awards for the Ann Arbor District Library’s children’s publication Jump and for her children’s picture book illustrations.
